What is GamesRogue?
GamesRogue is a totally user generated online gaming community. With
the players in mind, we host the best in browser-based games along
side an extensive library of user-generated, reviews, guides
walkthroughs and cheats for your favorite console games, to deliver
the complete gaming experience. With creation in mind, we offer our
Art section, where you can upload your best stuff from your own
portfolio, or a sceenshot from your favorite game, for the community
to enjoy, discuss and review. In our videos section, upload and watch
your favorite highlight videos, video walkthroughs, hacks, cheats, and
pretty much anything that you think is worth a look. All of this brings
you RogueKarma, and closer to our top user prizes
This is just some of the stuff at GamesRogue. Take your time and enjoy
the site where it is all about the gamer. Power to the players.
Did you say Prizes?
Yes. Every user contribution to GamesRogue has a RogueKarma value, from
guide submissions, game submissions, commenting and rating content, to
just playing games. The top Karma earning users for each week wins one
of our cash prizes. Check out our Contests page for all the details.
Tell me more about the Art section.
We know that games couldn't exist without the work of some of the
greatest and most talented artists in the world, and we built the Art
section to provide a forum for expression. The Art section is a place
for artists to be inspired, to showcase their work, to check out and
discuss the works of others, and for game developers looking for the
right artist to with the right style for his game.
Art either, 1) Has something to say, or, 2) Looks good. And #2 is more
important.
Content Removal Policy
Because the nature of the Contests on GamesRogue are such that they encourage contribution, we have implemented a content policy designed to maintain the quality of our content, while rewarding our true best contributors. As such, any game, video, guide, image, or any other user contribution that is consistently down rated, in bad taste, annoying, or ignored by the community, may be removed at any time. Any Contest Karma relating directly to the content in question will also be removed from the users profile. Again, this is to encourage quality contributions, and discourage just dumping every image you have on your box onto our server just to win the contest at the last minute. Repeat offenders will be banned. All winners will be screened and audited before payment is issued to ensure the integrity of our system. We will never manipulate this system to favor any user over another, and all users with administrative privileges are not eligible to enter any Contests on GamesRogue.
How does the points ranking system work?
Here is the break down for the RogueKarma values:
15 Minutes of Game Play- 15
For Content Uploads...
Flash Game - 200
Art Upload- 15
Video Upload- 100
Guide Upload- 200
Cheat Upload- 25
News Upload- 20
Review- 20
Logging in for the day- 50
Views that your submitted content gets- 1 point per page view
As you can see, nearly everything you do on the site has a Karma
value. However, some things are worth more than others. This is
intended to allow users to use the site how they please, while
rewarding major contributions and great content. In addition, the
communities reaction to the stuff you put up will continue to generate
Karma over time, to encourage the best and brightest content.
Our number one priority at GamesRogue is to make sure that you have
the absolute best, easiest and most fulfilling time at our site, and
